The term bronze embraces copper alloys with tin as the main alloying addition. The common copper-tin forgeable alloys contain up to 8.5% tin. Copper-tin alloys belong together with copper-aluminium alloys and copper-nickel alloys to the most corrosion-resistant copper alloys. It is worth to emphasize the outstanding corrosion-resistance in aqueous and slightly acid alkaline mediums.
